Pantheons of Deities

We find ourselves in an era where there is no longer a living god, where each of them exists in the form of a flag, proudly upheld by their respective religions. Why hasn’t a new god arisen in such a long time? Could it be that humanity has reached a critical maturity where any divine concept is merely a perspective? Where are the gods? Where do the spirits of ostentatious power rest? Well, I understand that they have died, and they have done so in various ways: drowned, mocked, burned, mutilated. And as one would expect… different ways of dying require different death rituals, different burials, different pantheons. Where can I find the remains of my fallen deities? Because I need to see them, to ensure they were real, to evidence with my senses that they truly existed, and that it was man who killed them. In what other way could I explain my hatred for mankind, those who, thinking they owed their lives to the kindness of a single god, have killed them all alike?
